The Necklace

Volume II of the Book in the Loft series by Neil Hawkins. This is the second book in the series. The first book is available for download in our free book section.

This sequel to The Book in the Loft is a spiraling journey to a world inhabited by the very creatures who are behind the leather-bound books. The powers within the books take the crew of the Council of Planets starship Explorer to an encounter with a superior force, the result being a whirlwind trip through time and space that involves those from the J'rlonian Circle of Planets and seemingly familiar faces from Neil MacBruce's imagination. Imagination or real, MacBruce alone cannot find the way back to his own time and space, and in the events that follow he becomes entangled with enemies in both dimensions and discovers a connection with an ancient race that perhaps explains his own origins - and a mystery with no answers.

The Book in the Loft

I really liked your first book--your writing style reminds me of a mix of a "A Wrinkle in Time" and the early 1950's writing style, I like, it, and I would love for you to continue your writing on this series!

I intend to buy your second book. Keep them coming!

The Necklace

Neil Hawkin's second book, The Necklace, a sequel to The Book in the Loft is a roller coaster ride through the extraordinary worlds of higher dimensions, parallel universes and time travel. This science fiction fantasy depicts the compelling saga of men, women and distant worlds struggling for their freedom with heroes who use technology for the good of the universe after it has been perverted to deadly uses.
A very good read!
