R. P. Nettelhorst's Bio
R.P. NETTELHORST is a writer of science fiction, among other things. He does a weekly newspaper column for a small Northern California newspaper called The Ridgerider News. He gets to write about anything he likes, as long as he keeps it to 800 words. He worked with the X-Prize as a volunteer in media relations at both X-Prize launches of SpaceShipOne. He’s also the founder and Academic Vice President of Quartz Hill School of Theology where he also serves as Professor of Bible and Biblical Languages. He is a graduate of Los Angeles Baptist College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and a major in history. While a student, he spent two summers working on a kibbutz in Israel. He went on to complete his graduate work at UCLA in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, majoring in Semitic languages. Before founding Quartz Hill School of Theology, he taught at Christian Heritage College, Los Angeles Baptist College, and the Master’s College. His academic articles have appeared in Biblical Research Monthly, the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Quartz Hill Journal of Theology. He is listed in Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.
He also serves as Webmaster for Quartz Hill School of Theology’s website (www.theology.edu), which receives in excess of one hundred thousand visitors per month. MSNBC.com and Slate.com (among others) have linked to his articles.
He is married, with three daughters between the ages of ten and twelve, two cats and a Golden Retriever named AU. He resides in Lancaster, California.
