See your story in print!

In order to encourage new writers and wake up old ones, Great Authors Online is holding a writing contest.

There are two categories: Short Story and Novella/Novellette.

Short Story
Up to 25,000 words. The first, second, and third place winners will each receive a hard copy containing their story! The first place winner will see his or her story as the featured story in the book.

Novella/Novelette
25,000 to 50,000 words. The first and second place winners will each receive a book consisting of the two novelettes.

If you have a Novel...
Forget the contest. Just send us the book. If it is any good, we’ll publish it.

Rules
The stories must be original and the work of the person submitting them. All submissions must agree substantially with the provisions on the Editorial Policy page. Some latitude is, of course, allowed. Submissions must be made in the manner prescribed on that page. The stories do NOT become the property of GAO; however, GAO will have the right to offer them for download during the term of the contest for the purpose of commenting and judging. The winners may be offered contracts for the sale of their stories on an individual basis.
